If you receive an unsolicited inbound offer for your business, do not accept right away.
Inbounds won’t walk away, even if they say the offer is exploding.
Engage a banker. They know the prospective buyers. Create a process. Build competitive tension. It’s a proven method for both identifying the right buyer and maximizing value.
Note: Exceptions exist, such as if a strategic offers something obscene/irrational. If your banker is breath-/speechless, there might be reason to move swiftly.
