Send a test wire.
If you're wiring a significant sum for an investment or distribution, send $5.00 ahead of time and ask ("did you receive my test wire?").
Everyone loves to check for a wire, even if it's a small test. It also makes you look proactive and professional. And it eliminates the risk/uncertainty for both sender & recipient that the big wire will arrive correctly.
A test wire is less of an imposition than doing a call to confirm the wiring instructions. A confirmation call doesn't even remove the uncertainty/nerve (since both of you are just staring at the same email w/ wiring instructions anyway).
