Seller: "I want to stay for x years!"
Me (thinking): "I need a replacement within x months."
Unless you're (1) letting the seller roll substantial equity and (2) planning to build the new platform up around them, don't expect them to stay for very long. Sellers aren't used to being employees or not-in-command.
