Quinten Griffiths of GoodCapital in Canada bought his first business, a struggling Govt SaaS carveout from a bigger (healthier) enterprise for $80.00 + a multi-million dollar exploding seller note (which vastly exceeded the actual market value of the company).
He jumped straight into the turnaround, spending the first weekend creating a website via Wix. 3-4 years later, the company was sold to a large PE-backed strategic. It was a highly successful outcome for both the initial seller and Quinten, who has gone on to build GoodCapital and spearhead a portfolio of purpose-driven businesses.
Quinten and I have been friends since Jan 2016 when we met at the Search Fund Convocation in California, and we had a monthly standing call for several years. He's one of the savviest, smartest & most creative people in this ecosystem.
This was last week's episode on the Minds Capital Podcast (YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, etc.), I'm just a little behind in posting. Thanks for coming on, Quinten.
