For independent sponsors with multiple platforms, consider making centralized hires.

Your portcos may not have the budget or the draw to attract top talent. However, this same talent might be compelled if they can work "at an investment firm" across "multiple portfolio companies." More prestige, accelerated learning, better springboard.

Chris Breaux is currently recruiting an AI Implementation Specialist. None of his 3 portcos can afford or utilize a full-time resource like this, but all of them (plus Chris's holdco/GP) can benefit from having such a team member.

Bonus: You can hire at the fund level, but do payroll at the opsco level. For Chris, this means that each of his 3 platform companies carries 1/3 of the cost of this full-time AI Implementation resource.
