Of course they want to see deal flow and vetted investment opportunities. Who wouldn't?!
But beware of opportunistic investors (lose-lose-lose):
• FO don't have the internal infrastructure, speed, and alignment to execute systematically, at least not without diverting resources from other initiatives.
• Sponsors will find their conversion rate with such LP prospects to be low. You want dedicated and/or strategic capital partners.
• You won't see a two-way value exchange: without a tight strategy, they're unable to source deals at your pace/quality.
