Continuous Base Cases Are Best

The closer your base case is to “just do more of what we’re already doing”, the better.

If a base case relies on M&A, business model pivots, resolving distress, adding service lines, upgrading the management team, etc., then the harder it is to believe in it.

Versus a base case which says “same revenue growth, same margin, same team, and same exit multiple” = very credible.
